The Pakistani rupee extended its winning streak against the US dollar to 207 consecutive trading days on Tuesday, posting another marginal gain in the interbank market.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the rupee settled at Rs. 277.8522 per dollar, improving by one paisa from the previous closing rate of Rs. 277.8618.

The local currency has appreciated against the dollar in every trading session since December 25, 2025, marking one of its longest uninterrupted runs in recent years.

Among other major currencies, the rupee strengthened by 94 paisas against the British pound, 74 paisas against the euro, 91 paisas against the Australian dollar, and 30 paisas against the Canadian dollar.

The local currency also gained 4 paisas against the Malaysian ringgit and one paisa against the Saudi riyal, while it remained nearly unchanged against the UAE dirham.

The only currency against which the rupee weakened was the Chinese yuan, slipping marginally by less than one paisa.
