Engro Fertilizers (EFERT) reported its weakest first-half urea sales in a decade, as earlier bulk purchases weighed on demand during the first six months of 2026.

According to data released by the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), EFERT sold 537,000 tons of urea in 1H2026, the company’s lowest first-half sales volume in the last 10 years.

The slowdown followed heavy push sales in the final quarter of 2025, when significant volumes were moved into the market ahead of demand. Those advance purchases reduced buying activity during the first half of 2026.

As sales weakened, EFERT’s urea inventory climbed to 694,000 tons, leaving the company with a substantially higher stockpile at the end of the period.
