The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that taxpayers will be able to start filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 from Monday, July 27.

In a statement issued on Friday, the tax authority urged individuals and businesses to submit their returns with complete and accurate information, emphasizing the importance of truthful declarations.

The FBR said honest and timely filing strengthens Pakistan’s tax system and contributes to a fair and transparent tax administration.

The launch of the filing portal marks the beginning of the annual tax return season, during which salaried individuals, business owners, companies, associations of persons and other eligible taxpayers are required to file their income tax returns under the Income Tax Ordinance.

Returns will be submitted electronically through the FBR’s IRIS portal once the filing window opens on July 27. The tax authority has yet to announce the deadline for submitting Tax Year 2026 returns.
