The Pakistani rupee continued its remarkable winning streak against the US dollar on Tuesday, closing stronger for the 202nd consecutive trading session.

The rupee closed at 277.92 per US dollar, appreciating by 3.2 paisas compared with the previous close of 277.95.

The local currency has remained on an upward trajectory against the greenback since December 25, 2025, marking more than six months of uninterrupted gains.

Currency Market Update

The rupee remained largely stable against the UAE Dirham (AED) and Saudi Riyal (SAR) during Tuesday’s trading session.

Against other major currencies, the PKR posted mixed movements. It strengthened by 87 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and 49 paisas against the Euro (EUR).

The rupee also gained 64 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD) and Rs1.03 against the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).

However, it weakened by 60 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD), while minor losses were recorded against the Chinese Yuan and Saudi Riyal.
