Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Limited has announced the appointment of Adil Salahuddin as its next Chief Executive Officer and Director, marking a leadership transition at one of the country’s leading foreign banks.

In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, the bank said its Board of Directors has approved Salahuddin’s appointment. The decision remains subject to the necessary regulatory approvals and clearances.

The bank added that the current CEO, Rehan Shaikh, will continue to lead the institution until Salahuddin formally assumes office.

Salahuddin has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, including a 25-year career with Standard Chartered. Over the years, he has held senior leadership roles in Markets, Coverage and Transaction Banking across multiple international locations.

While much of his career has been centered on Pakistan, he has also served in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, where he gained significant experience in Middle Eastern and African financial markets.

The appointment is expected to strengthen the bank’s leadership as it continues to expand its operations and execute its long-term strategy in Pakistan.
