The Punjab government has reinstated the issuance of property ownership certificates (Fard) after withdrawing the temporary restriction and issuing an official notification.
Under the revised instructions, Fard will only be issued for properties located in areas where land records have not yet been digitized.
The suspension had been introduced as part of the rollout of the Green Property Certificate system, which replaced the conventional property ownership certificate in selected areas.
With the restriction now lifted, people in non-digitized localities can once again obtain traditional property ownership certificates through the revenue authorities.
The latest notification restores the service for eligible areas, while the Green Property Certificate framework will continue to be implemented in locations where the digital land record system is operational.
