Gold prices in Pakistan posted a sharp increase on Thursday, tracking strong gains in the international bullion market.
According to the latest rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of one tola of gold surged by Rs. 9,100 to Rs. 428,736.
The price of 10 grams of gold also climbed by Rs. 7,802, settling at Rs. 367,572.
The latest increase comes a day after gold prices had fallen by Rs. 5,200 per tola, when the precious metal was priced at Rs. 419,636.
In the international market, gold gained $91 to reach $4,063 per ounce, including a premium of $20, providing the main impetus for the rise in domestic prices.
Silver also moved higher during the session, with the price of one tola increasing by Rs. 203 to Rs. 6,445.
