Gold prices in Pakistan continued their downward trend on Wednesday, with the precious metal shedding Rs. 5,200 per tola as international bullion prices weakened.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of one tola of gold fell to Rs. 419,636, down from Rs. 424,836 recorded a day earlier.
The price of 10 grams of gold also declined by Rs. 4,458, settling at Rs. 359,770.
The drop followed another significant decline on Tuesday, when gold had already lost Rs. 4,100 per tola in the domestic market.
In the international market, spot gold prices fell by $52 to $3,972 per ounce, including a $20 premium, weighing on local bullion rates.
Silver prices also moved lower, with the price of one tola falling by Rs. 107 to Rs. 6,242.
