Visa has expanded its Visa Accept tap-to-phone payment solution to more than 25 countries as the company pushes to broaden digital payment acceptance for small businesses worldwide.
The service is currently available through banking partners including HNB in Sri Lanka, Banco Agromercantil de Guatemala, and SACOMBANK and VPBank in Vietnam.
Visa said additional launches are planned in the coming weeks through Co-op Bank in Kenya and Access Bank, Omni Bank, and Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) in Ghana.
The company expects Visa Accept to reach millions of merchants globally by 2027.
Separately, Visa highlighted new capabilities for Visa Direct, its real-time money movement platform, allowing small businesses to send payouts directly from their smartphones.
Through banking, fintech, and business platforms that support Visa Direct, businesses can use their phones to make payments to employees, contractors, and delivery drivers, issue customer refunds or incentives, and transfer funds across borders to eligible cards, bank accounts, and digital wallets. The service is designed to let businesses manage both incoming and outgoing payments from a single mobile device.
