The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting rain and thunderstorms in several north-eastern Punjab districts over the next one to three hours.

According to the latest forecast, Lahore, Narowal, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Gujranwala are likely to receive rain, with isolated areas expected to experience thunderstorms.

The rainfall is expected to provide relief from the ongoing heatwave by bringing temperatures down. However, authorities have cautioned that heavy showers could lead to water accumulation in low-lying areas, causing traffic disruptions and temporary inconvenience.

Relevant departments have been placed on alert to respond to any drainage issues or weather-related emergencies.

Residents are advised to stay updated through official weather advisories and exercise caution while traveling, as weather conditions may change rapidly.
