A 92-year-old woman in Yantai, eastern China, has gone viral after escaping a care facility by climbing a 2.15-meter gate in just 24 seconds.

Security footage shows the elderly resident, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, scaling the gate unaided before exiting the premises.

Despite her age and condition, staff said she has a lifelong background of physical labor in orchards and remains unusually active.

The woman was reported missing shortly after the incident, prompting a search operation involving staff and vehicles. She was found safe about 25 minutes later near the facility and returned without injury.

The video quickly spread online, drawing mixed reactions ranging from admiration of her agility to concern over safety in dementia care environments.
