Pakistan Customs has rejected reports suggesting a disruption in trade and LPG supplies at the Pak-Iran border, clarifying that operations at the Gabd-Rimdan crossing remain fully active and uninterrupted.

In a fact-check statement issued by the Directorate General of Customs Public Relations, the department said that claims circulating in parts of the media about halted trade and LPG shortages were incorrect. It emphasized that customs clearance processes and the movement of essential goods are continuing without any interruption.

Official figures show that 748 LPG Goods Declarations, amounting to around 17,353 metric tons, were cleared through the Gabd-Rimdan border between June 1 and June 8 under the jurisdiction of the Customs Appraisement Collectorate, Gwadar. Authorities said these numbers confirm that LPG imports remained steady during the period in question.

Customs also pointed to ongoing procedural reforms at the border aimed at improving transparency, curbing misdeclaration, and preventing revenue leakage. The revised clearance system has been introduced under the Customs Rules, 2001, following consultations with the Quetta and Gwadar chambers of commerce.

A one-month adjustment period was provided to traders to facilitate transition to the updated procedures, while essential imports such as LPG and bitumen continue to be processed through expedited channels, including the Green Channel, to avoid delays.

The department further reported an increase in documented trade activity and revenue collection. Between April and June 2026, Customs collected Rs. 12.07 billion from 8,245 Goods Declarations, compared with Rs. 7.86 billion from 6,909 declarations in the same period last year.

Pakistan Customs reiterated that it remains committed to facilitating legal trade, ensuring smooth clearance of imports, and strengthening revenue collection while maintaining efficient border operations.
