The government is preparing a relief package for exporters that is expected to be announced in the upcoming Budget 2026–27.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during a recent meeting with representatives of the business community, assured them that the next budget will include measures aimed at easing pressure on exporters and improving competitiveness.

According to a participant of the meeting, the Prime Minister did not disclose the details of the proposed package but reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the export sector in Budget 2026–27.

Sources said that one of the key demands from exporters—the abolition or relaxation of the minimum tax regime—may be reviewed as part of the upcoming fiscal measures.

Under the second phase of the five-year Tariff Reform Plan (2025–2030), the government is also set to reduce additional customs duty on 3,149 tariff lines and bring regulatory duties down to 20 percent on more than 1,900 tariff lines in the budget.

Officials further indicated that pending tax refunds will be cleared by the Federal Board of Revenue by June 15, following instructions from the Prime Minister.
