President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the summoning of the budget sessions of both the National Assembly and the Senate on June 5, according to National Assembly Secretariat sources.
National Assembly Secretariat sources said the lower house will meet at 5:00 pm on June 5 for the budget session, while the Senate session has been called for 6:00 pm the same day.
The approval for convening both sessions has been granted by the president, paving the way for the formal presentation of the federal budget in parliament.
The back-to-back sessions of the two houses will mark the beginning of the parliamentary budget process, during which the government is expected to present its fiscal proposals for the upcoming financial year.
