The Government of Punjab has exempted shops, markets, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and food outlets from prescribed closing timings across the province.

According to an official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (Implementation & Coordination Wing) and dated May 15, 2026, the exemption has been granted in continuation of an earlier departmental decision.

The notification states that all commercial establishments, including retail markets and hospitality businesses, will remain exempt from mandatory closing hours with effect from June 11, 2026. The order was issued with the approval of the Chief Secretary Punjab.

The move effectively allows businesses to operate beyond previously imposed closing schedules, easing operational restrictions on commercial activity.
