Islamabad is set to see closer diplomatic alignment with Uzbekistan as officials move forward on plans to relocate the Uzbek Embassy to the capital’s Red Zone.
The development came during a meeting between Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sohail Ashraf and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev at the CDA Headquarters.
During the discussions, the CDA chairman assured full institutional support for shifting the Uzbek Embassy to the Diplomatic Enclave/Red Zone area of Islamabad, stating that all necessary administrative facilitation would be provided to ensure a smooth relocation process.
Both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, with a particular focus on strengthening diplomatic presence and improving urban coordination for foreign missions in the capital. Officials noted that such steps reflect growing bilateral engagement and mutual interest in expanding long-term collaboration.
The meeting also touched on broader development initiatives linked to city planning and diplomatic infrastructure, as both countries continue to enhance ties across political, cultural, and urban development sectors.
