Law enforcement agencies launched a major operation across upscale areas of Karachi, arresting dozens of suspects during simultaneous crackdowns on illegal shisha cafes, guest houses, and street crime networks.

Police officials said at least 23 individuals were taken into custody during raids carried out in DHA, Clifton, Boat Basin, Darakshan, and Gizri. Authorities also confiscated multiple hookahs, flavored tobacco, and other prohibited items from the targeted locations.

According to police, officers from Boat Basin conducted a raid in Clifton’s Block-5 area, arresting three suspects and recovering seven hookahs from an illegal setup.

Separate operations by Darakshan and Gizri police uncovered unauthorized guest houses and underground hookah bars. Eleven suspects, including four women, were arrested during these raids. Investigators alleged that one of the detained women was involved in supplying crystal meth (“Ice”) to private dance parties. Cases have been registered against all suspects under relevant laws.


Rangers Bust Street Crime Network

In a separate operation, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) dismantled an alleged street crime gang operating in North Nazimabad.

Acting on intelligence reports, Rangers conducted targeted raids in the Niaz Manzil area and arrested five suspects identified as Gulfam alias Sunny, Mohammed Shan, Daud, Ashraf alias Pannu, and Ismail Mikael.

Officials said the suspects were allegedly involved in multiple street crimes. Authorities recovered one unlicensed 30-bore pistol, two 9mm pistols, five mobile phones, and cash during the operation.

Security agencies stated that further investigations are underway as efforts continue to curb illegal activities and rising street crime in the city.
