Cement dispatches in Pakistan increased by 11.14 percent in April 2026, mainly supported by higher local demand, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).

Total industry dispatches reached 3.890 million tons during April 2026, compared with 3.500 million tons in the same month last year.

Domestic cement sales showed strong growth, rising 20.17 percent to 3.217 million tons, up from 2.677 million tons recorded in April 2025. In contrast, export volumes declined 18.22 percent, falling to 673,058 tons from 823,032 tons a year earlier.

Regional Performance

North-based cement mills dispatched 2.662 million tons in domestic markets during April, an increase of 18.25 percent compared with last year. No export shipments were recorded from northern producers during the month. As a result, total dispatches from the North stood at 2.662 million tons, up 12.52 percent year-on-year.

South-based mills recorded stronger local growth, with domestic dispatches rising 30.35 percent to 555,104 tons. However, exports from southern manufacturers declined 5.01 percent to 673,058 tons. Total dispatches from southern mills reached 1.228 million tons, reflecting an 8.26 percent increase compared with April last year.

Ten-Month Performance

During the first ten months of the current fiscal year, overall cement dispatches — including domestic sales and exports — totaled 42.396 million tons, marking a 9.83 percent increase compared with 38.600 million tons in the corresponding period last year.

Domestic dispatches during July 2025 to April 2026 rose 11.33 percent to 34.785 million tons, while exports increased modestly by 3.47 percent to 7.611 million tons.

North-based mills dispatched 29.014 million tons in the domestic market during the period, up 12.56 percent year-on-year. Export shipments from the North dropped sharply by 35.39 percent to 797,679 tons. Overall dispatches from northern producers rose 10.36 percent to 29.812 million tons.

South-based mills dispatched 5.771 million tons domestically, showing a 5.56 percent increase. Export volumes from the South grew 11.31 percent to 6.813 million tons, lifting total southern dispatches to 12.584 million tons, an increase of 8.60 percent compared with last year.

An APCMA spokesperson said the industry expects improving geopolitical conditions to stabilize energy markets and support global economic activity. The association also expressed hope that the upcoming federal budget would introduce policies aimed at improving competitiveness for the cement sector.
