The Pakistani rupee continued its upward streak against the US dollar on Monday, closing in the green for the 148th straight trading session.
At the end of the day, the rupee settled at 278.82 against the dollar, gaining a modest three paisas in the latest session.
However, the local currency struggled against most other major global currencies, reflecting mixed performance in the foreign exchange market.
Against the euro, the rupee weakened by Rs. 1.55, while it lost Rs. 1.97 against the British pound. The Australian dollar also strengthened, with the rupee falling by Rs. 1.27. The Canadian dollar saw a gain of 94 paisas against the PKR.
In contrast, the rupee remained largely stable against Gulf currencies, showing minimal movement against both the UAE dirham and Saudi riyal.
The latest data highlights a relatively steady rupee-dollar trend, but continued volatility against other major currencies in international trade.
