Ufone users across Pakistan may face service interruptions as prolonged electricity load shedding continues to disrupt telecom operations nationwide.
In a statement, the telecom operator said extended and frequent power outages — in many areas lasting eight hours or more — are severely affecting its ability to maintain uninterrupted mobile services.
The company explained that most telecom infrastructure relies on backup battery systems installed at cellular sites to keep networks operational during power failures. However, these battery banks require at least three to four hours of continuous electricity supply to recharge fully.
According to Ufone, the ongoing pattern of repeated outages is preventing batteries from completing their charging cycles, gradually reducing backup power capacity and leading to network instability in several regions.
The operator added that normal service levels are expected to resume once electricity supply becomes stable and load shedding pressures ease.
The development highlights how Pakistan’s ongoing power crisis is now spilling over into essential communication services, raising concerns for businesses, emergency connectivity, and everyday mobile users.
