The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a widespread severe weather warning for the coming week, forecasting heavy rain, thunderstorms, windstorms, hailstorms, and possible flash floods across Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

A new western disturbance is expected to reach western Balochistan on April 5th, persisting in northern and western regions until April 9th, triggering heavy rainfall and storms across multiple districts.

  • Balochistan: Rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms with isolated heavyfalls and hail expected from April 5–7, affecting Quetta, Chaghi, Dalbandin, Kalat, Mastung, Zhob, and surrounding districts. Southern districts, including Turbat, Panjgur, and the Makran Coast, will see storms on April 6th.
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Widespread storms and mountain snowfall expected from April 6–9 in districts including Chitral, Swat, Dir, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms likely on April 7–8.
  • Punjab & Islamabad/Rawalpindi: Rain and thunderstorms from April 6–9, with isolated heavyfalls in Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Sargodha. Southern districts including Multan and Bahawalpur will see storms on April 6–7.
  • Sindh: Scattered thunderstorms expected on April 6 in Sukkur, Hyderabad, Karachi, Larkana, and other areas, with isolated hailstorms.
  • Gilgit-Baltistan & Kashmir: Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall in upper mountains, with thunderstorms and isolated hail from April 5–9, affecting Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, and surrounding areas.
