The Directorate General of Customs Valuation in Karachi has announced new customs valuations for the import of LED bulbs, LED tube lights, and their components from China. The updated values will determine applicable duties and taxes at the import stage.
The move comes after importers submitted requests for customs assessments aligned with current international market prices. In response, the directorate conducted a detailed review of import data, declared values, assessed values, and market trends under Section 25A of the Customs Act, 1969.
A dedicated meeting was held to examine stakeholder submissions, during which participants presented evidence to support their claims. Following this, ninety days of import data were analyzed, and market inquiries were carried out under Section 25(7) of the Customs Act.
After thorough scrutiny, the Directorate finalized the customs values of the goods, ensuring assessments reflect true market conditions. The updated valuations have been formalized under ruling number 2025 of 2026.
