The Pakistani rupee (PKR) extended its gains against the US Dollar (USD) for the 130th consecutive day, closing at 279.12 on Wednesday after rising three paisas.
However, the PKR faced losses against most other major currencies during today’s trading session.
- Against the Euro (EUR), the rupee fell by Rs. 3.34, closing at 323.47.
- Against the British Pound (GBP), it lost Rs. 1.87, ending at 370.62.
- It also weakened against the Australian Dollar (AUD) by Rs. 2.24 and the Canadian Dollar (CAD) by 52 paisas.
On the other hand, the rupee recorded minor gains against regional currencies:
- +1 paisa vs the UAE Dirham (AED)
- +3 paisas vs the Saudi Riyal (SAR)
Other movements included slight losses against the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), Chinese Yuan (CNY), and moderate fluctuation against the Canadian Dollar.
