Singer Ali Zafar has won a defamation case against fellow vocalist Meesha Shafi, with a Lahore court ordering her to pay Rs5 million in damages, Aaj News reported.

The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Asif Hayat, concluding a long-running legal battle that began in 2018. Meesha had publicly accused Ali of sexual harassment on social media, claims that Ali vehemently denied, arguing they had tarnished his reputation and caused mental distress to his family.

Ali initially sought Rs1 billion in damages. The case spanned eight years, nine judges, and 284 hearings, highlighting its high-profile nature within Pakistan’s entertainment and legal circles.

The court’s ruling marks a significant moment in one of Pakistan’s most closely watched defamation disputes in the showbiz industry.
