The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for allegedly violating his central contract and the board’s media guidelines during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.

The notice, served under the PCB’s disciplinary framework, requires the right-arm pacer to respond within a specified timeframe. The board will decide on any further action after reviewing his reply.

While the PCB has not publicly detailed the exact reason, reports suggest the notice is related to a social media post that surfaced during the PSL opener between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen.

The post, originally shared from Naseem’s X (formerly Twitter) account, questioned the reception of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at the event. It read, “Why is she treated like the queen at Lords?” and included a quote of a PCB update featuring chairman Mohsin Naqvi welcoming her at the venue. The message quickly drew attention online before being deleted.

Following the controversy, Naseem clarified that the post was not made by him, claiming his account had been hacked and was recently recovered. “This account of Naseem was recently hacked but now recovered successfully,” the statement said, distancing him from the remarks.
