A Chinese military analyst has warned that the United States is effectively trapped in its conflict with Iran, with no viable path to withdrawal, ceasefire, or decisive victory.

The analyst argues that the war has its own momentum, making conventional solutions ineffective. Any attempt at a ceasefire could trigger a domino effect: Gulf nations falling under Iranian influence, the collapse of the petrodollar system, remilitarization in Asia, fractures in Europe, and a global economic crisis that could cripple the U.S. economy.

Plans for a limited ground intervention, such as capturing Karg Island—key to Iran’s oil exports—risk escalating into a full-scale invasion. Iran’s strategic use of mountains, drones, hypersonic missiles, and proxy networks could trap U.S. forces in a prolonged conflict, echoing past “mission creep” seen in Vietnam and Iraq.

The analyst also highlights that Iran has meticulously studied U.S. military tactics for over two decades, enabling it to neutralize America’s technological and conventional advantages. Aircraft carriers and airstrikes would face severe vulnerabilities, further limiting U.S. options.

The report concludes that the only sustainable solution lies in diplomatic engagement and a new global framework where America cooperates rather than dominates, avoiding further regional and economic catastrophe.
