The Pakistan Navy has welcomed the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA(N)) ship DAQING to Karachi to participate in the fourth edition of the bilateral naval exercise SEA GUARDIAN IV, scheduled to run from March 25 to April 2, 2026.
Upon arrival, the Chinese naval vessel was accorded a ceremonial welcome and escorted into port by Pakistan Navy ships, reflecting traditional maritime protocol and the close cooperation between the two navies.
According to the Pakistan Navy, the exercise is aimed at enhancing bilateral maritime cooperation, improving interoperability, and promoting the exchange of professional expertise between the two friendly forces. It underscores the shared commitment of both countries to regional peace and maritime security.
The exercise will include a series of harbour and sea-phase activities, such as subject matter expert interactions, a seminar for young officers on contemporary maritime issues, gunnery drills, coordinated patrols, and various maritime security operations.
Officials stated that the SEA GUARDIAN series reflects the strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and is expected to further strengthen naval collaboration while contributing to stability in the region.
