The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning to construct a new Capitol House in Islamabad, following the model of existing provincial guesthouses in the federal capital.
According to sources, the project is currently at the design stage, with further progress dependent on formal approvals and the allocation of funds.
The proposed facility will be developed on the lines of established residences such as Punjab House, Sindh House, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, Balochistan House, Kashmir House, and Gilgit House.
Officials say the Capitol House will serve as an official accommodation and administrative space for the capital’s governing setup, aiming to improve coordination and streamline government functions.
Once the design is finalized and approvals are secured, the CDA will proceed with funding and construction. The project is expected to be completed within a year, subject to timely clearance of all procedural requirements.
