Gold prices in Pakistan saw a steep decline on Friday, tracking the downturn in international bullion markets, where prices slipped sharply on weak global demand.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs. 8,100 to settle at Rs. 491,362. Similarly, the rate for 10 grams fell by Rs. 6,945 to Rs. 421,263.
This follows an even sharper fall earlier, when gold had already plunged by Rs. 24,300 in a single session on Thursday, bringing the per-tola price down to Rs. 499,462 before the latest drop.
In the international market, gold prices declined by $81, reflecting broader selling pressure, with rates hovering around $4,686 per ounce, including a $20 premium.
Meanwhile, silver also moved lower, losing Rs. 50 per tola to close at Rs. 7,684.
