The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has begun distributing fresh currency notes in preparation for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, ensuring citizens have access to high-quality cash for the festive season.
According to market sources, commercial banks across the country have received new notes, allowing the public to obtain them directly from branches or, where available, through ATMs dispensing fresh bills.
Who Can Collect New PKR Notes?
- All Pakistani citizens with a valid CNIC.
- Bank account holders at commercial banks, as some banks may give priority to their account holders.
- Walk-in customers visiting branches during Ramazan.
Authorities advise collecting fresh notes early in the month to avoid last-minute shortages, as demand is expected to rise closer to Eid.
While some vendors in busy city markets have begun selling new notes through stalls and handcarts, these are often priced above their face value. Citizens are encouraged to obtain notes through official banking channels to avoid overpaying.
The SBP is actively monitoring the distribution process to ensure fair and timely access for all citizens ahead of the holiday.
