The Pakistani rupee (PKR) maintained its positive streak against the US Dollar (USD) on Tuesday, marking the 121st consecutive day of gains. The local currency closed at Rs. 279.27, up by three paisas compared to the previous session.
However, the PKR faced losses against most other major international currencies during the trading session.
- Against the British Pound (GBP), the rupee declined by Rs. 1.52, closing at 371.53.
- The PKR lost 40 paisas versus the Euro (EUR), ending at 320.95.
- It fell Rs. 1.47 against the Australian Dollar (AUD), and 15 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
On a brighter note, the rupee gained one paisa against the Saudi Riyal (SAR) but weakened slightly against the UAE Dirham (AED). Minor movements were also seen versus the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and Chinese Yuan (CNY).
