The State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday said inflows under the Roshan Digital Account have crossed the $12 billion mark, underscoring sustained participation by overseas Pakistanis.

The number of RDA accounts rose to 901,764 by the end of January, registering a monthly increase of 8,634 accounts, according to the central bank’s latest data.

SBP acknowledged the continued confidence shown by overseas Pakistanis in the initiative, noting that the RDA has emerged as a key channel for overseas banking, investment, and savings in Pakistan.

Investment patterns showed a strong preference for Islamic instruments, with Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) attracting $1.063 billion, significantly higher than $518 million invested in conventional NPCs.

Meanwhile, Roshan Equity Investments climbed to $114 million, reflecting a 7.5 percent month-on-month increase. Other liabilities stood at $67 million, while total account balances reached $540 million.
