Consumers can expect significant relief at the pump in the upcoming fortnightly review on April 15. Petroleum product prices will likely decrease by more than Rs. 8 per litre amid recent fluctuations in international oil markets.

According to reports, petrol prices may fall by as much as Rs8.27 per litre, while diesel rates could see a reduction of Rs7 per litre. Additionally, kerosene oil prices are expected to drop by Rs7.47 per litre, with light diesel rates decreasing by Rs7.21 per litre.

This anticipated reduction represents a substantial decrease in Pakistan’s fuel prices, following the global downward trend in oil prices. The news comes as welcome relief for consumers struggling with high inflation across the country.

In the previous adjustment last month, the federal government implemented a modest Re1 per litre reduction in petrol prices. This minor cut brought the petrol rate down to Rs254.63 per litre from Rs255.63, while high-speed diesel prices remained unchanged at Rs258.64 per litre. Prior to that, on March 15, the government had maintained petroleum prices without any adjustments.
