Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his willingness to collaborate with US President Donald Trump to strengthen bilateral ties. He made these remarks during a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, where he emphasized the coalition government’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as trade, information technology, agriculture, health, education, and energy.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of joint efforts to combat threats posed by militant groups. In response, the US envoy assured him of Washington’s readiness to advance shared objectives and deepen cooperation between the two nations.

Despite the Prime Minister’s outreach, no high-level engagements have taken place between Islamabad and Washington since Donald Trump’s return to the White House last month. This lack of communication has raised concerns within the current government about the state of bilateral relations.

Federal Cabinet Updates
On the same day, during a federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of the government’s e-office initiative. Officials reported that the initiative had been implemented in 98% of federal divisions. PM Shehbaz directed the concerned authorities to ensure full implementation across all ministries by March.

Additionally, the Prime Minister informed the cabinet that Saudi Arabia’s $100 million per month deferred payment facility for petroleum products had been extended for another year, providing much-needed relief to Pakistan’s economy.

The developments underscore the government’s focus on strengthening international partnerships and improving domestic governance.
