Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the abolition of the job quota for children of government employees who pass away during active service. The decision aligns with a recent Supreme Court ruling, according to sources.
The Establishment Division has officially notified all ministries, divisions, and provincial authorities, instructing them to implement the new policy. Despite the removal of the job quota, other benefits under the relief package for families of deceased employees will remain unaffected.
The new policy does not apply to the heirs of martyred government officials or employees who are victims of terrorism. Additionally, the appointment of the widow or husband of a deceased government employee will still be allowed under the current framework.
