The Punjab government has announced the discovery of massive gold deposits worth an estimated Rs. 600-700 billion in Attock. According to Punjab Minister for Minerals Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, the reserves, spanning a 32-kilometer-wide area, contain approximately 2.8 million tolas of gold.

The discovery was made under the Geological Survey of Pakistan, and authorities plan to hire Nespak and other firms to accurately assess the value of the reserves. The minister revealed that an international auction for the gold deposits is scheduled for next month, with advertisements to be published globally. An auction committee has already been formed, and the auction rules are expected to be approved during a Punjab cabinet meeting next Tuesday.

To safeguard the site, provincial authorities have imposed Section 144 in the area to prevent illegal gold extraction. The minister confirmed that no incidents of theft have been reported so far.
