Indus Motor Company Limited (PSX: INDU), the assembler and distributor of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, has announced a temporary suspension of operations at its production facility from December 16 to December 31, 2024. The company disclosed this development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.

According to the statement, the shutdown is part of the company’s scheduled annual maintenance activities. “We would like to inform you that the company has scheduled its annual maintenance activities for the plant involved in the manufacturing and assembly of vehicles,” the filing stated.

Indus Motor Company is responsible for assembling, progressive manufacturing, and marketing of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan. It also serves as the sole distributor of Toyota and Daihatsu vehicles in the country, operating under a license for assembling and marketing these vehicles.

The company emphasized that the temporary suspension is necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of its operations in the future. Production is expected to resume on January 1,
