Pakistan’s textile exports experienced a significant increase of over 17 percent in September 2024, according to trade data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Thursday. The country’s textile exports rose by 17.6 percent, reaching $1.605 billion compared to $1.364 billion in September 2023.
Despite this year-on-year growth, textile exports in September 2024 saw a slight decline of 2.4 percent on a month-on-month basis, down from $1.644 billion in August 2024.
For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (1QFY25), textile exports totaled $4.520 billion, marking a 9.3 percent increase from the $4.134 billion reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year (1QFY24).
In September 2024, Knitwear led the textile export categories with $448 million, followed by Readymade Garments at $338 million, and Bed Wear at $290 million.
