Gold prices in Pakistan have surged to a new all-time high, crossing the Rs. 277,000 mark per tola on Wednesday. According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold increased by Rs. 2,200, reaching Rs. 277,200 per tola. Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams of gold rose by Rs. 1,886, settling at Rs. 237,654.
This new peak surpasses the previous record set on September 26, when gold prices hit Rs. 277,000 per tola. Since then, prices had fluctuated within a range of Rs. 270,000 to Rs. 276,000 per tola before this latest increase.
In the international market, spot gold also saw an uptick, rising 0.6 percent to $2,676.63 per ounce as of 0832 GMT. Similarly, US gold futures climbed 0.5 percent to $2,693.30. The rise in gold prices reflects ongoing global market trends and investor interest in the precious metal.
