In a tragic incident on Friday night, six Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan District, according to a statement from the military’s media affairs wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The clash occurred on the night of October 4-5, 2024, when security forces engaged with terrorists, referred to as Khawarij by the ISPR. The military’s effective response resulted in the elimination of six terrorists. Among the martyred soldiers was Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat, 43, who bravely led his troops from the front.

The ISPR emphasized that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, reaffirming the security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism. The sacrifices of these soldiers, the ISPR noted, further strengthen the resolve to combat terrorism.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for their unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, stating that the entire nation pays tribute to the martyrs. He reiterated the determination to eradicate terrorism in all its forms.

In a related development, the ISPR reported that Law Enforcement Agencies conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in the Charbagh area of Swat District. This operation resulted in the killing of two terrorists, including the ring leader Atta Ullah, also known as Mehran. Another terrorist was apprehended in injured condition.
