Law enforcement authorities have intercepted an attempt to smuggle 50 kilograms of silver, valued at approximately Rs 50 million, during an operation at the Daraban check post.
The seizure was made during routine inspection procedures when officials stopped suspects allegedly transporting the precious metal without authorization. Police confirmed that the individuals involved have been arrested.
A formal case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the silver and identify others who may be part of the smuggling network.
Officials said surveillance and security measures at key check posts will remain heightened to prevent the illegal movement of high-value goods and to strengthen enforcement efforts along major transit corridors.
