A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook Lahore and several other areas of Punjab on Thursday, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC).
The NSMC reported that the earthquake’s epicentre was near Kharian, Punjab, with a depth of 15 kilometres. The quake was recorded at a longitude of 73.82 East and a latitude of 32.88 North.
Fortunately, no reports of casualties or property damage have been received so far.
This comes just weeks after a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad on November 13. Tremors from that quake were felt in Nowshera, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Malakand, Kohat, Buner, Swat, Swabi, and Landi Kotal.END
