Two mobile phone dealers from Peshawar have gone missing in Germany during a Europe tour organized by the Pakistani mobile phone manufacturer Sparx. The incident has raised serious concerns and sparked allegations of human smuggling, damaging the reputation of mobile phone companies in Pakistan.

Sparx arranged a Europe tour for its dealers from January 24 to 29, with a delegation of 84 participants traveling to Europe. On the first day of the trip, two dealers from Peshawar reportedly disappeared and have not been located since.

A local tour company official in Karachi confirmed that the disappearance was reported to German police, who conducted a search for several days but were unable to trace the missing individuals. The matter has also been reported to the German Consulate General in Karachi.

Insiders have alleged that the disappearance may be linked to human smuggling. According to sources, a senior official of Sparx, identified as Zeeshan Qureshi, is accused of taking Rs. 5 million from the two dealers and facilitating their disappearance in Germany. These allegations suggest that the incident may be part of a scheme to help individuals leave Pakistan illegally.

Government officials have launched an investigation into the matter to locate the missing dealers and probe the claims of human smuggling. Authorities are also examining the role of Sparx and its officials in the incident.

An official from the private company stated that all dealers on the tour had obtained visas from the German embassy after completing the required bank guarantees and documentation. Despite this, the disappearance of the two dealers has raised questions about the company’s practices and oversight.

The incident has caused significant reputational damage to Sparx and other mobile phone companies operating in Pakistan. Industry stakeholders have expressed concerns over the potential misuse of corporate tours for illegal activities, urging stricter regulations and monitoring to prevent such incidents in the future.
